How To Build A Fire
Many of us have fond memories of campfires. You may probably associate campfires with camping, making s’mores, and sharing stories with your loved ones around the fire.
Today, we will be thinking of campfires a little differently. I want to share with you the concept of a campfire. When you first start a campfire, you have to start small. You get little pieces of kindling and tinder, pile them up nicely, ignite the pile, and add more tinder until the fire grows bigger. If you’ve noticed, it’s a slow and methodical approach.
Starting a campfire is kind of like your ketamine treatment. When you receive your ketamine infusion therapy, it's like lighting a small tiny fire to start. When that fire is small, it can easily be blown away. But as you add more tinder to the fire, it becomes bigger and stronger.
Similarly, when you have just started your ketamine treatment, the progress you make is small and fragile. Perhaps you get some insight or a touch of inspiration on what to do next. But it’s simply a spark, something that can be blown away if no “tinder” is added to it.
Taking Advantage of Your “Kindling”
To ensure your “fire” aka your progress grows, you want to start taking small actions. Those small actions are like the kindling. For example if you want to start working out, don't try to do two hours of working out in a day. Maybe do five minutes of exercise per day and gradually increase as you get stronger. The idea is to start with small actions to eventually grow your campfire into something bigger and more stable.
Ketamine infusions are a catalyst that will allow you to grow your “campfire” if you consciously make an effort to be better. Going all-in isn’t the best solution if you want to make lifelong changes. Remember to start small, and this will lead you to much bigger things.
