Today we are inspired by the work and wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. During the 1950s and 1960s, there were many civil rights activists besides Dr. King. They all pointed out the injustice of that time and shared how they were going to create change. One of the things that made Dr. King standout and have his legacy live on to this day is that he shared his DREAM. He shared his vision of a beautiful world where those civil rights existed. He shared his WHY:
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!...”
As you are on this journey of healing physical and emotional pain, you can get caught up in how you are going to get better. You can get bogged down by focusing on what failed or what injustice you have experienced. You can take on the mindset of victimization or hopelessness. But what if you focused on your WHY, on your DREAM?
Why do you want to get better?
What does your world look like freed from pain?
What is your dream?
If you have suffered from many years of pain, it can be so easy to think transformation isn’t possible, but it is! Focusing on the outcome you want and allowing yourself to dream, will help you cultivate a transformative healing mindset. Be inspired by the vision that Dr. King had and create a new dream for yourself.
